In portal control panel, clients can change domain nameservers themselves, but the specific entry point depends on the registrar module you have enabled. Typically, clients can find the nameserver management feature in the client area under "My Domains."
Client Operation Path
Clients usually need to log in to the client area and follow these steps:
-
Go to My Domains.
-
Find the target domain and click Manage or the dropdown menu next to it.
-
Select Nameservers or Manage Nameservers.
-
In the pop-up window or page, fill in the new nameserver addresses (usually at least NS1 and NS2 are required) and save.
Prerequisites and Considerations
-
Module Support: The client area's nameserver modification function requires .com, .net and .org to support the "Update Nameservers" feature.
-
Permission Restriction: If you cannot find this option in the client area, it may be the because the current registrar of domain name does not support client-side modifications, or you need to check the corresponding permissions in the product settings.
-
Propagation Time: After modification, the new nameservers will take effect at the registrar side, but global DNS propagation may take 1 to 48 hours.
